Boam Industries service announcement!

You may have noticed I’m drawing and sharing a lot more personal work over on my DB tumblr these days - I hope you enjoy these rougher/more relaxed drawings.

Perhaps some would describe it as more sketch booky? - I was looking at my JB illustrations and wondering why they seemed so stiff, lacking in energy/without soul/spiritless and I got pretty down in the dumps about how long everything was taking me to do.

Talking to my good friend Matt about how I kind of hated my process and how a lot of my finished artwork felt a bit limp and lifeless he suggested that my sketch book work had a fresher more energetic vibe - 

The DB process is a lot less time consuming/looser method and perhaps healthier way for me to share my imagination.

I chose the initials DB because they stand for - Drawing Boy, Drawing Book, Daft Bastard, Defective Brain, Dirty Bum, Drawing Board, Daddy Boam and so many more…

It seems a bit silly now but Initially I was a little  worried that this way of working would mess things up for my more “commercially viable” JB illustration style so a separate tumblr seemed like a good solution.

I’ll continue to create artwork for commissions using my JB process if that’s what is required or asked for and continue to keep the work in separate online locations for now although I’ve totally mixed things up on my flickr already :-P
